Apple is like the leader in the mobile devices market. The company is always trying to improve itself to stay at the top. According to the rumors by Bloomberg, Apple is coming with a new operating system, realityOS or rOS, for headsets. It could be the operating system of the mixed reality headset. Here are the details about realityOS.
Apple applies for “Reality” branding for the mixed reality headset
According to Bloomberg’s reports, Apple was working on “rOS” or realityOS firstly in 2017. Then the company released a developer framework called ‘RealityKit’. It helped create augmented reality experiences. The new rumors revealed that Apple filed new trademark applications for “Reality One,” “Reality Pro,” and “Reality Processor.” However, these applications are not under the brand of Apple. A company called Immersive Health Solutions, LLC.
Apple and other giant companies are trying to hide their plans from the public. Therefore, Apple could have filed applications with the new company. Additionally, the Delaware-based Immersive Health Solutions was registered by Corporation Trust Co. The company filed applications in the US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, and Uruguay.
All three applications are about virtual and augmented reality headsets, goggles, glasses, and smart glasses. Apple could produce three products, two of them are mixed reality headsets, and another one is the processor unit. While the “Reality One” could be the standard version, the “Reality Pro” could come as a spec-boosted version, also the “Reality Processor” could be the processing unit of the headsets.
The headsets could allow users to experience augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) with games or more, including VR versions of Apple Maps and FaceTime. According to the claims, Apple’s mixed reality headsets will not be launched until 2023. That means, we may not hear anything about the headsets at the Apple September 7 Event.
