With the banning of TikTok in the US, Apple made a rare move and shared the full list of affected applications. While the company usually does not make a public statement when it makes such a blocking, this time it published an official support document and announced the applications blocked in the US.
TikTok ban is more comprehensive!
In addition to TikTok, it turned out that many popular applications belonging to ByteDance were removed from the App Store. It attracted attention that platforms such as CapCut and Lemon8, which have rapidly increased the number of users recently, are also on the list.

Here are the applications blocked by Apple:
- TikTok
- TikTok Studio
- TikTok Shop Seller Centre
- CapCut
- Lemon8
- Hypic
- Lark – Team Collaboration
- Lark – Rooms Display
- Lark Rooms Controller
- Gauth: AI Study Companion
- MARVEL SNAP
In a statement about the removal of the apps, Apple said that they are complying with US law and that all apps developed by ByteDance Ltd. and its affiliates have been removed from the App Store under the ‘Apps Controlled by America’s Adversaries Act’.
Will existing users also be affected?
Users in the US will no longer be able to download these apps from the App Store, while support for updates and in-app purchases for already installed apps will be terminated. Apple also emphasised that users visiting the US and registered in a different App Store region will also be restricted from accessing these apps.
This ban is in line with the decision adopted last year to sell TikTok to ByteDance.
