The radical design change that has been talked about for a long time for the MacBook Pro has been postponed once again due to some technical problems. According to the latest reports, the major transformation of the new generation MacBook Pro will not take place until 2026.
Targets for the new MacBook Pro are postponed to 2026
Apple is preparing to make a radical design change for the MacBook Pro series. Accordingly, it was stated that this change, which was previously stated to be made next year, has been postponed to 2026. According to Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman, the company has postponed the date by one year due to problems with the screen technology.
The MacBook Pro models expected to be released in 2025 will switch to Apple’s new generation M5 chip. According to Gurman, no significant design change or new feature is expected other than the processor. In other words, the models to be released next year will maintain the current designs and will only be versions with processor upgrades.
Gurman stated that the real big innovation will come in 2026. This year’s models will switch to OLED screens, which are used in the new iPad Pros. A thinner and redesigned chassis is also expected for the MacBook Pro series.
A significant increase in performance is also expected. The 2026 MacBook Pro will likely be powered by Apple’s next-generation 2nm processor technology, the M6 chip. This means a big leap in performance.
