It was one of the biggest rumors of recent times that Apple was working on a foldable iPhone. Apple, which is on the agenda with its new products and features, is preparing to teleport its users to a science fiction movie with the patent it submitted to the US Patent and Trade Office (USPTO). With the new feature Apple patented today, cracked screens will be a thing of the past.
The screen of your Apple device will repair itself!
The biggest problem of users has been broken, collapsed or cracked phone screens after we threw the push-button phones to the dusty shelves of history. Exactly for this reason, a phone that self-repairs the damage to the screen would not be bad. This feature, which looks like something out of a science fiction movie, has emerged in a new Apple patent.
The new Apple patent involves a foldable iPhone with a layer that will automatically fill in any damage to the screen. With this move, Apple has also shown how it will differentiate itself from foldable phones from other brands like Samsung. The screens of other foldable devices are thinner than normal and allow for flexing. But this feature also made the devices more vulnerable to bumps and scratches.
So how will Apple’s new screen repair itself? Apple explained how this improvement will be realized without giving too much detail with the patent it submitted. The self-repairing material layer will start to repair itself without any warning.
For example, if there is a dent in the self-healing coating, the coating material will fill the dent without outside intervention. Alternatively, the self-healing process can be initiated or accelerated by external stimuli such as heat, light, electric current or other external stimuli.
