Global tablet shipments rebounded in 2024, growing by 9% after three years of decline, reaching a total of 147.6 million units. In the final quarter of the year, from October to December, tablet shipments hit 39.9 million units, marking a 5.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Global Tablet Market Grows 9%! Apple Leads the Way
The leader of the tablet market in 2024 was Apple, with 56.9 million units shipped and a 38.6% market share. Apple had shipped 54 million units in the previous year, showing a growth of 5.3% and maintaining its leadership.

Samsung, in second place, shipped 27.8 million units, reaching an 18.8% market share with an 8.2% growth. Huawei secured third place with 10.4 million shipments and a 7.3% market share.
Lenovo shipped 10.4 million units in 2024, securing a 7.1% market share, just behind Huawei. Lenovo showed a 12% growth compared to 2023. Xiaomi stood out with 9.2 million shipments, reaching a 6.2% market share, and a remarkable 73.1% annual growth. This performance allowed Xiaomi to surpass Amazon’s Fire tablets and claim the fifth spot.
According to Canalys analysts, the global PC market’s upgrade cycle in 2024 positively influenced tablet demand, especially corporate demand, which played a significant role in the growth of tablet shipments. Analysts expect further increases in corporate tablet demand in 2025, while consumer market performance may remain more limited.
In general, 2024 can be seen as a year in which the tablet market, after a long period of decline, entered a growth trend. While Apple maintained its leadership, the impressive growth of Xiaomi, alongside giants like Samsung and Huawei, highlighted the dynamic nature of the market.
