In recent months, Apple announced Apple Intelligence, bringing artificial intelligence features to iOS and iPadOS. However, it turned out that the new features will not reach the iOS 18 distribution. In this context, the company’s new distribution date has also been announced.
Apple Intelligence update left to iOS 18.1
Apple will not be rolling out some of its AI features with iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 this fall, Bloomberg reports. The company, which made a big play with its Apple Intelligence move, said it will not be able to roll out several of its features in the first phase.
The new AI features, called Apple Intelligence, are designed to create text, images and other content. It would have been the company’s biggest leap forward in AI capabilities to date.
However, Apple plans to roll out the new AI features after the initial release of iOS 18. It will launch iOS 18 in September and Apple Intelligence in October. The company will also give developers early access to test it through the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta.
An Apple spokesperson told Bloomberg that the features were delayed to ensure they meet Apple’s standards for “privacy, security and quality.” In this context, it will not be ready for iOS 18.
When Apple Intelligence launches, it will be integrated into iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max and newer iPads/Macs with the M1 chip and newer. However, it seems possible that many Apple products will have these artificial intelligence features over time.
