Apple is working on an affordable MacBook model with an iPhone processor. It is stated that the new laptop will be offered for sale at a lower price than the current MacBook Air. It is stated that the device will come with a chip that has not been used in Apple’s laptop series so far, namely the A18 Pro chip found in the iPhone 16 Pro models.
An affordable MacBook model will be introduced
It is said that the new model will have a 13-inch screen size and will meet users with four color options: silver, blue, pink and yellow. While the device is expected to be close to the Air series in terms of design, the preference of the A series chip instead of the M series on the hardware side may make the device the most affordable model in Apple’s laptop segment.

The A18 Pro chip scores approximately 3500 points in single-core performance in Geekbench tests. This score shows that the chip is slightly lower than the M4 processor found in the Mac mini. In the multi-core test, the A18 Pro scores approximately 8780 points, while the M4 stands out with approximately 15000 points.
The performance of the A18 Pro in this area is close to the M1 chip that Apple launched in 2020. This shows that iPhone chips have now reached a level that can meet daily usage needs at the laptop level.
Mass production of the new MacBook is planned to begin in the last quarter of 2025 or the first quarter of 2026. The device’s sales date or price information has not yet been clarified. Apple may be taking a step towards expanding its product range with this model and reaching a wider user base.
