Apple is preparing to offer its users long-awaited image creation tools with the new iOS 18.2 update. According to Mark Gurman ‘s report, the new features will appear as Image Playground and Genmoji . So, what are these tools? When will iOS 18.2 be released?
Apple Brings Image Playground and Genmoji to iOS 18.2 in October
What is Image Playground?
Let’s say that Image Playground is a brand new image creation tool developed by Apple. Users will be able to create visuals in three different styles using short text inputs (prompts): animation , illustration and sketch . However, this application will not produce photorealistic images. It will offer a different experience, especially for users who want to create creative content and artwork.
What is Genmoji?
Another innovation from Apple, Genmoji , allows users to create their own personal emojis. Based on text-based input, users will be able to create emojis that fit their own style and character. The aim of Genmoji is to make users have a more enjoyable time while messaging and using social media.
These new tools are part of Apple Intelligence technology that Apple announced at its WWDC 2024 developer conference . Apple initially planned to introduce these features in iOS 18.0 , but had to delay them until iOS 18.2 due to delays. Now, they are expected to be available to users in test versions in October.
