In 2020, Apple introduced the Mini series into our lives with the iPhone 12 Mini. Users who have been fans of smaller models since the iPhone 4 also loved this device. Later, the iPhone 13 Mini was released, but we didn’t see a Mini device in the iPhone 14 series.
There won’t be a Mini model in the iPhone 15 series either. In fact, Apple is discontinuing the production of the iPhone 13 Mini.
According to renowned Apple analyst Mark Gurman, iPhone 13 Mini stocks are dwindling, and Apple’s online store in the US is predicting shipping times of 2-3 weeks for some models, and 6-8 weeks for others.
This scarcity indicates that after Apple’s Wonderlust event, where they will introduce the iPhone 15 family on Tuesday, production of the iPhone 13 Mini could be halted.
Last year, Apple did not release an iPhone 14 Mini model, but they continued to offer the iPhone 13 Mini as a lower-cost option in the US, starting at $599. (Currently priced at 36,609 TL in our country.)
If you’re looking to purchase an iPhone 13 Mini, now might be your last chance. It appears likely that Apple will halt production of the device after unveiling the iPhone 15 series on Tuesday.
Apple’s new series will likely consist of the 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the 4.7-inch iPhone SE.
While there initially seemed to be suppressed demand for a smaller iPhone, actual data showed that the iPhone Mini had lower sales compared to other iPhone models. In April 2022, research firm CIRP showed that the iPhone 13 Mini accounted for only 3% of total iPhone 13 sales in the first quarter of that year.
Customers looking to buy a smaller iPhone from Apple will have to settle for the entry-level iPhone SE, but it’s said that even this device will be updated with a larger 6.1-inch screen in the next year or two.
For now, it seems like Apple has realized that small phones may not be as popular as they once thought. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments.
