Apple is officially taking its popular wireless headphones Powerbeats Pro off the shelves after more than five years on the market. Launched with a $250 price tag, the Powerbeats Pro were designed for intense workouts.
Powerbeats Pro discontinued
Apple has stopped production of Powerbeats Pro, which has been on the market for more than 5 years. Launched in 2019 for $250, Powerbeats Pro appealed to those looking for headphones designed for training and physical activities.
With silicone ear hooks and IPX4 sweat/water resistance, the Powerbeats Pro were ideal for many athletes. But with the arrival of new Beats options, sales declined and Apple decided to stop production.
It’s important to underline that Apple is preparing the next generation Powerbeats Pro 2. Expected to be released next year, Powerbeats Pro 2 is expected to be redesigned and retain fitness-oriented features.
Most exciting is the addition of a heart rate sensor that will allow the headphones to track workouts directly through the Apple Health app. Other upgrades include Active Noise Cancellation, support for Spatial Audio and better battery life.
Colors are also rumored to expand, with purple, orange and beige options. The charging case is said to remain similar, while the ear hooks will be more adjustable. The price is expected to remain unchanged, around 250-300 dollars.
