As Apple continues its work on the next-generation, AI-powered Siri, it has emerged that the company has taken a significant step in its internal testing process. According to a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, Apple has developed a test application similar to ChatGPT to enable employees to more effectively experience Siri technologies currently in development.

The report states that the application is not planned for public release but is being used solely for internal testing. Similar to popular chatbots like ChatGPT, the application allows employees to create multiple chats on different topics, save past conversations, and maintain long-term conversations. Feedback is also being collected during this process on whether the chatbot interface enhances the user experience.
Apple executives are unanimous in their belief that AI features should be integrated into the user experience rather than a “separate chatbot.” Apple Software Chief Craig Federighi emphasized at WWDC 2024 that their goal is not to offer an additional chatbot, but rather to deeply integrate AI into the daily experience on devices.
The company’s system is reportedly being developed in two versions:
- A version powered by Apple’s own AI models
- A version based on third-party models like Google’s
Apple’s goal is to introduce the next-generation Siri to users in the spring of 2026.
Also, Apple is reportedly working on another project called “Answers.” With this project, the company aims to create a new search experience similar to ChatGPT using its own AI services.
