For months, Apple, Nvidia and Microsoft have been in a race for the highest market capitalization in global markets. However, Apple has regained the top spot and is now the world’s most valuable company. How? Thanks to its artificial intelligence strategy, of course. Although this strategy has not yet been fully implemented, market expectations are that iPhone sales will increase significantly. So how did Apple become the most valuable company despite not using artificial intelligence yet? Here are the details…
Thanks to artificial intelligence, Apple is the most valuable company again
Yesterday Apple shares closed at $234.82, reaching a market capitalization of $3.6 trillion on the NASDAQ technology exchange. Microsoft ranked second with $3.34 trillion, while Nvidia was third with $3.1 trillion. Alphabet/Google was further behind with $2.28 trillion and Amazon with $2 trillion. Apple’s share price rose 0.18 percent, while Microsoft, Nvidia and Alphabet/Google fell 0.98, 1.62 and 1.43 percent, respectively.
Apple performed even better on Monday. Morgan Stanley designated Apple shares as a “top pick” and its market capitalization rose to $3.62 trillion on the expectation of an increase in device sales with its artificial intelligence strategy. Apple has managed to increase its market value by 20 percent since January. The company announced its plans in the field of artificial intelligence at the WWDC 2025 developer meeting in early June.
Right now, the excitement in the stock market is driven by expectations about the future. Apple Intelligence (artificial intelligence) functions are still in the testing phase and even users participating in Apple’s iOS 18 beta can’t fully experience them. The first functions will be available in the fall and will initially only be available in US English. In Europe, Apple plans to remain on hold for now due to the EU Commission’s measures against Apple Intelligence.
Apple AI services include text and image rendering and a greatly improved version of Siri. But these services will only work on certain devices. For Mac and iPad, all models with M1 SoC and above, and for iPhone, only the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, and possibly all iPhone 16 models coming in the fall will support these features.
With these new developments, Apple has managed to increase its market capitalization and has returned to the top. So, what do you think about this AI strategy? Don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
