Apple updated its list of old and outdated products and announced that it was withdrawing support from a few more of its products. The most striking among these devices was the iPhone 5S model. The 11-year-old iPhone has been officially placed in the obsolete products category.
iPhone 5S entered the obsolete products list
iPhone 5S, released in 2013; It was the first model to bring Touch ID to the iPhone. It was also powered by the A7 chip, Apple’s first 64-bit mobile processor. This made the iPhone both more powerful and more efficient.
Although many users are still using the iPhone 5S, it should be noted that it does not receive software support. Apple, which discontinued sales and support nearly two years ago, determined that the iPhone 5S had reached the end of its lifecycle. Accordingly, Apple and its authorized repair providers will no longer provide repair services. Parts will not be available for repairs.
If you are still using the iPhone 5S today, it should be underlined that Apple does not provide software and repair support. This forces users to switch to a newer model. We should also point out that the iPhone 5S does not see software newer than iOS 12.5.
Additionally, Apple added the 6th generation iPod Touch and 21.5-inch Retina 4K iMac, released in 2015, to the list of obsolete products. Spare parts for these devices will no longer be actively sold. However, Apple will provide support for up to 2 years if parts are supplied.
On the other hand, Apple has stepped up its gear for the iPhone 16 series. Mockup versions of four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have been leaked. The most notable changes were in the screen sizes of the Pro models. Accordingly, it is said that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch screen.
