As September approaches, excitement is running high for Apple fans. Apple is expected to make announcements for the new iPhone 17 event next week. While everyone awaits an announcement from Apple, Apple has expanded its social media presence in China with a new move. This move is expected to boost Apple’s popularity in China and boost sales of devices like the iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, as well as the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3. Here are the details.
Apple on Popular Chinese Platform RedNote
According to a report in China, Apple expanded its social media presence in China over the weekend, launching an account on the popular Chinese platform Xiaohongshu. Known as RedNote in English, the platform has been operating for over a decade. While TikTok was temporarily banned in the US, it gained global attention, allowing users in China to share content globally without needing a separate platform.
While other social media platforms require a China-based phone number for registration, Xiaohongshu supports Sign in with Apple and international phone numbers. Apple reportedly launched its account on the platform on Saturday and has since amassed over 200,000 followers.
With the iPhone 17 launch approaching, this move by Apple to expand its market presence will likely attract more users. It also appears Apple has begun actively posting on its RedNote app.
Earlier this summer, Apple joined the Threads platform. It appears Apple will continue to rapidly expand its social media presence.
