A new rumor suggests that Apple may bring Apple Pencil support to the Vision Pro. Currently, Apple Vision Pro has different options for text input, including using a virtual keyboard, Siri or a separate Bluetooth keyboard.
Apple could bring Apple Pencil support to Vision Pro as a new way to interact
The new rumor is based on an anonymous source with knowledge of the matter. While the report doesn’t go into much detail, it says that Apple is internally testing a new Apple Pencil with visionOS support. This could work for text input and could include functions like drawing in apps like Freeform and Pixelmator.
There are also rumors that a new Apple Pencil will be released alongside the refreshed iPad Pro line. However, MacRumors, which is known for its accurate Apple news, says it has not yet confirmed whether it will support visionOS.
Apple is expected to announce visionOS 2.0 at its WWDC event in June. It’s also possible that Apple could add Apple Vision Pro-Apple Pencil compatibility with an earlier software update, such as visionOS 1.2. While visionOS 2 is expected to be announced in June, it’s not expected to be released until September at the earliest.
