Apple has shared an image created with its new AI-powered feature, Image Playground, for the first time. The new feature works based on text-based clues. In other words, you can quickly create the image you want in cartoon style by entering a description. Here is the resulting image…
Apple shares its first image with Image Playground
The first example was created by Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, Craig Federighi, to celebrate his dog Bailey’s birthday. The image features an adorable dog wearing a birthday hat and smiling behind a cake.
Apple first shared this image with Wired magazine. The magazine added a watermark in the middle of the image to make it obvious that it was created with AI. The EXIF data in the image file also shows that the image was created with AI.
Apple describes Image Playground as a fun tool that will allow users to create original images in just a few seconds. The feature will likely be available in December 2024 along with iOS 18.2.
Meanwhile, the company also plans to introduce customizable emoji creation called Genmoji to users in this version. Before that, the first AI-powered features called Apple Intelligence are expected to be released in October with iOS 18.1. The new update will also include new capabilities such as writing and summarizing tools.
