Similarly, Google has invested heavily in its infrastructure to meet the growing demand for AI. Given these massive energy and processing costs, offering a completely free, advanced AI model seems financially challenging for any company.

One possible path for Apple is to follow Google’s lead. Google integrates basic Gemini features into Android for free but offers the more advanced Gemini Advanced for a monthly fee. Apple could adopt a similar tiered model, keeping the basic Siri available to everyone while offering more powerful features through a subscription, much like it does with iCloud storage.

On the other hand, Apple might initially offer the Siri chatbot completely free to attract users away from competitors like ChatGPT. By absorbing the costs for a period, Apple could instantly become a key player in the AI market. However, this may not be a sustainable long-term strategy.
