Apple has put the idea of integrating an AI-powered search engine into its Safari browser on its agenda. It has been revealed that the company is in talks with Perplexity and OpenAI’s SearchGPT services in this regard.
Apple is bringing AI support to Safari
Apple executive Eddy Cue stated that they have been in talks with Perplexity about integrating into Safari in recent days; however, he announced that no final decision has been made on this issue yet. Stating that AI has provided a serious transformation in the field of search engines, Cue states that things that classic search engines could not do have become possible.

The default search engine in the Safari browser continues to be Google. Cue said that even in the event of an AI-based engine being integrated, this engine was not initially considered to be the default.
However, the first decrease in Google searches made in Safari last month was the first signal of a possible change. Because users are increasingly interested in AI-based platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini.
On the Apple side, the AI development process is progressing slower than expected. The new Siri, which was planned to be offered within the scope of the Apple Intelligence plans that the company introduced last year, has still not been put into operation.
Since their own technologies are not sufficient, the company may start collaborating with third-party AI solutions. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
