Apple is expanding its range of professional tools for iPad users. According to sources close to the company, iPadOS will soon be equipped with powerful applications such as Pixelmator Pro, MainStage, Motion, and Compressor. Currently available only on macOS, Apple’s move will bring the iPad a step closer to the desktop experience.
Pixelmator Pro, Apple’s recently acquired professional photo editing tool, is poised to redefine mobile creativity with its iPad version. With its layer support, advanced color correction tools, and AI-powered automatic enhancements, the app can transform the iPad into a portable studio.
MainStage Support Coming to Musicians
MainStage, Logic Pro’s stage performance tool, will be adapted for the iPad to simplify sound control for musicians during live performances. This will allow artists to perform professional audio editing on stage without carrying a computer.
Motion will enable Final Cut Pro users to create dynamic 2D and 3D effects, while Compressor will simplify the export of video and audio files to different formats. These two tools will give iPad users the freedom to create desktop-level videos.
These apps are sold for between $29.99 and $49.99 on macOS. However, it’s not yet clear whether the iPadOS versions will maintain the same pricing or switch to a subscription-based model. Apple hasn’t officially announced a release date for the new apps.
Last year, Apple attracted the attention of creative professionals with the release of Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPadOS. Now, with the addition of Pixelmator Pro, MainStage, Motion, and Compressor, iPadOS is evolving into a full-fledged productivity platform. With this move, Apple aims to transform the iPad from a mere content consumption tool to the center of professional workflows.
