Apple has been in the spotlight in the tech world in France in recent days. The French regulatory agency ANFR, which noticed that the radiation emitted by the smartphone was higher than it should be, had requested a halt to sales nationwide. Today, Apple announced that an update will be released for iPhone 12 models as a solution to this issue.

The French National Frequency Agency (ANFR) recently made a noteworthy announcement regarding the iPhone 12, stating that when the smartphone is held or carried in a pocket, it exceeded the limit of 4 watts per kilogram, with an electromagnetic energy absorption of 5.74 watts.
Following this, ANFR called for Apple to make adjustments to reduce electromagnetic radiation in the iPhone 12 and to take the necessary precautions, stating that otherwise, the brand would be required to recall the smartphones.
Apple, on the other hand, instructed its employees to remain silent on this issue. According to reports, the brand requested that its technical support team not share information when consumers asked about radiation risks. In other words, the situation was quite serious.
Today, Apple announced in a statement to some media outlets that they will release a software update for users in France to comply with the protocols imposed by French regulators. This update will reduce electromagnetic radiation.
Although it is stated that this update will only be released for iPhone 12 users in France, the question arises whether the update will be offered to users in other countries since the issue is related to the smartphone itself.
France, along with Europe, is an important market for Apple. The brand generated nearly $95 billion in revenue from the region this year. Therefore, the company will do its best not to lose this significant market.
