Apple is issuing a warning against Google Chrome, urging iPhone users to avoid it. The company maintains that its own browser, Safari, is the safest and fastest option for the iPhone.
Chrome warning and privacy emphasis
Apple states that Safari is the most secure browser for the iPhone. While Google Chrome offers advantages such as Gemini integration, Google Lens, and easy syncing, Apple argues that these features can pose privacy risks.

According to the company, Safari is specifically designed to protect user privacy. The browser blocks third-party cookies, hides IP addresses, and defends against web trackers using machine learning. Enhanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection, introduced in the new iOS 26, makes tracking more difficult.
Apple is also focused on speed, as well as security. The company claims that Safari loads frequently visited sites up to 50% faster than Chrome. iCloud syncing also ensures seamless transfer of passwords and tabs between all Apple devices.
While Chrome’s AI advancements are impressive, Apple maintains that users within its ecosystem will have a smoother and more secure experience with Safari.
