Understanding and Managing Your Data: Apple’s Latest Efforts on Data Privacy Day

Ana sayfa / Technology

Technology brings incredible convenience to our lives, but also poses a big threat to our personal information. Our smartphones, websites we visit, social media apps, and even the games we play all compromise the privacy of our personal lives through the information we give them or they access without us realizing. To address this issue, Apple announced that it will provide new educational resources designed to help users take control of their data as part of Data Privacy Day celebrations. Here are the details…

Apple will raise awareness about data privacy among its users!

Data Privacy Day has been celebrated since 2016 to showcase the importance of personal data both in our country and around the world. Apple, which conducts awareness-raising activities every year, announced this year that it will provide new educational resources designed to help users take control of their data.

The education includes innovations that provide users with more information about how their data is used and effective methods for protecting it. As a company that believes privacy is one of the fundamental human rights, it also designs features such as App Tracking Transparency and Privacy Value Labels that allow users to have full control over their data.

From Saturday, January 28th, a new “Protect Your Privacy on iPhone” Today at Apple event will be offered. The event will cover features such as Mail Privacy Protection, Security Checkup, Location Services, and passkeys. Participants will learn how to customize each feature according to their privacy preferences.

This new 30-minute event will be offered at all Apple Stores worldwide. Moreover, customers can now make group reservations for events, organizations or classes by registering for Group Reservations. Anyone who wants to take advantage of the training can register for Today at Apple events offered at nearby Apple Stores by registering on the relevant page here.

The company is assertive about privacy

Privacy is integrated from the moment you start using all Apple products and services. Users are protected by built-in privacy every time they use applications from the moment they first open their devices. In Apple products and features, innovative privacy technologies are included that are designed to minimize the amount of user data that can be accessed by anyone.

That’s why Safari blocks trackers. The health app keeps user records extremely private. Siri learns what the user needs rather than who the user is. These are just a few of the dozens of privacy features that are built-in to every product and service designed by Apple.

Apple believes that users should have clear information about how their data is used and tools to make decisions about when and with whom to share it. “At Apple, we focus on designing devices, features, and services that empower users to keep control of their personal data,” says Apple’s Director of User Privacy, Erik Neuenschwander, “Over the years, we’ve integrated strong privacy controls into our operating systems. These films and new Today at Apple events will show some of the features we offer and how to use them and communicate that privacy is at the center of everything we do.”
