Apple recently introduced its new M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max processors at an event held in the past few days. The M3 series processors, which boast higher processing power compared to the previous series, have garnered a lot of attention. Additionally, the new M3 Max chip has appeared in the Geekbench 6 database today. Here are the details!
The Apple M3 Max processor scored 21,084 points on Geekbench!
Apple recently held the Scary Fast event, during which it introduced the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max processors. The company attracted attention with the performance that each of them will provide compared to their predecessors. Furthermore, today, the M3 Max processor appeared in the Geekbench 6 database.
According to the results, the M3 Max chip scored 21,084 points in the multi-core test, which is nearly identical to the M2 Ultra chip. The M2 Ultra chip is used in desktop computers such as the Mac Pro and Mac Studio. This means that the new MacBook Pro is on par with desktop computers in terms of performance.
On the other hand, it is noted that the M3 Max is approximately 45% faster than the previous M2 Max in the MacBook Pro. Additionally, Apple also stated during the event that the M3 Max is up to 50% faster. The M3 Max is a 16-core 3nm 30W chip.
While the M2 Ultra has a 76-core GPU, the M3 Max achieves half of that. However, the graphics performance aspect was not tested by Geekbench. Nevertheless, it is not possible to expect the same performance increase from the M3 Pro.
Generally speaking, the M3 Pro has 6 performance and 6 efficiency cores, along with a 12-core CPU. The M2 Pro, on the other hand, has 8 performance and 4 efficiency cores. Therefore, the M3 Pro seems to be at a lower level compared to the M2 Pro.
