While mobile processors are becoming increasingly powerful day by day, competition among manufacturers is also growing. According to reports emerging today, MediaTek is preparing to introduce a new 3nm chipset. The processor, to be introduced as Dimensity 9400, will come with ARM’s latest processor architecture, ‘BlackHawk.’ Here are the details of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400…
MediaTek Dimensity 9400 could be the largest and most powerful processor yet.
Looking at the newly emerged features of the Dimensity 9400, which was previously leaked to be the largest processor, the new chipset with the Cortex-X5-powered BlackHawk architecture seems poised to outperform its competitors. Produced in partnership with ARM, the new processor architecture may deliver higher performance compared to processors such as the A17 and Qualcomm Oyron.
Another important aspect is that the Dimensity 9400 won’t have efficiency cores similar to its previous version, the 9300. This allows it to perform better in tasks utilizing multiple threads. According to leaks, MediaTek’s processor outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, A17 Pro, and Qualcomm Nuvia in terms of performance per clock, surpassing even these high-performance competitors.
According to the revealed specifications, the Dimensity 9400 will be an eight-core 3nm processor, featuring one Cortex-X5 Prime core, three Cortex-X4 Prime cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. Additionally, MediaTek is expected to address the issues seen in previous models by providing stronger cooling and efficiency in its new chipset.
Expected to be unveiled in the last quarter of 2024, the Dimensity 9400 will be a flagship-level processor, offering features such as artificial intelligence capabilities and LPDDR5T support.
