Artificial intelligence tools have become increasingly popular in recent times. These tools are being widely used by users, especially due to the convenience they provide. One of the names joining the artificial intelligence frenzy is Meta. The company is now testing an artificial intelligence tool that can convert written text into music. Here are the details!
Meta announces “MusicGen,” an artificial intelligence tool that transforms texts into music
Artificial intelligence continues to make its presence felt in various fields. We recently reported on Meta, the parent company, working on artificial intelligence tools. Following that news, the company announced today that it has been testing a new artificial intelligence system.
The mentioned artificial intelligence system is called “MusicGen” which enables the creation of new music. This new tool will add a new dimension to artificial intelligence technologies by allowing musicians to generate new music. Additionally, users will be able to create similar music to any text they write.
In this tool, a detailed text input from an artist will determine the type of music the artificial intelligence will create. It can be in the style of the 90s or rock, depending on the artist’s preference. According to Meta’s announcement, MusicGen has been trained with over 10,000 high-quality and licensed tracks, as well as more than 390,000 instrumental tracks from platforms like Pond5 and ShutterStock.
The training process took approximately 20,000 hours, as stated by the company. It also mentioned that different models were created to allow musicians to generate the most suitable content for themselves. Although the tool is still in the development stage, it provides the ability to listen to and download the produced music after a few minutes of waiting.
MusicGen, with its ability to create music in various genres, is also catching attention. Google, on the other hand, is positioned as a competitor to Meta’s MusicGen with its application MusicLM, which converts your writings and humming into music.
