During the Ubisoft Forward event, brand new Assassin’s Creed games were unveiled. Ubisoft has decided to expand the popular stealth-action game series into the mobile and VR realms. Additionally, a new trailer was shared for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which will “return to the roots of the series.”
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, Codename Jade, and Mirage Details
Ubisoft Forward 2023 showcased three new games: Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, Codename Jade, and Mirage. The first of these games, Nexus VR, as the name suggests, caters to the Meta Quest 2 headset.
Ubisoft has announced that the VR game will be released during the holiday season of 2023. Players will be able to explore cities through the eyes of Ezio, Cassandra, and Connor. Additionally, they will be able to experience hidden blades, swords, and more in the virtual world.
Another game, Codename Jade, targets the mobile platform. Taking players to the imperial city of Xianyang in China, Codename Jade allows them to assume the role of Xia. As Xia, players will battle against the Xionan raiders beyond the Great Wall of China.
While no specific release date has been announced for the mobile game, players can pre-register for the closed beta.
Mirage, the highly anticipated final production of Forward 2023, will be released on October 12th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Players will take on the role of Basim, equipped with tools such as darts and explosives. They will also guide Basim’s pet bird, Enkidu, for exploration and target selection.
Although three significant projects were announced during the event, some projects were not detailed. Games codenamed “Red” and “Hexe” seem to be in a waiting phase for now.
