ASUS has announced a new model with the highest refresh rate in the gaming monitor market. The ASUS ROG Super Kill 27 Pro gaming monitor stands out as the first product on the market to reach a 720Hz refresh rate.
ASUS Announces 720Hz Monitor
The monitor achieves this high performance using a panel featuring LG’s Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology. This technology, introduced as the fourth-generation OLED panel, uses four layers of green, blue, and red OLED films.

Thanks to this layered structure, the monitor can reach a 540Hz refresh rate at 2K resolution and a record-breaking 720Hz refresh rate when the resolution is lowered to 720p. ASUS noted that the monitor does not have a 720Hz mode at Full HD resolution. LG has used this panel in its own products before, but those products did not offer this level of refresh rate.
The ASUS ROG Super Kill 27 Pro also stands out with its technical specifications. The monitor boasts a remarkably fast response time of just 0.02 ms. It also carries True Black HDR 500 certification. The monitor utilizes the DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 port for the highest quality visual transmission.
Pricing for the ASUS ROG Super Kill 27 Pro gaming monitor, dubbed PG27AQWP-W, has been announced. The monitor’s price for the Chinese market is $1,193. With this model, ASUS solidifies its leadership in the market, which specifically targets professional esports gamers.
