Apple is developing a new wireless system to update closed-box iPhone models. This system, which will allow store employees to update the new iPhone 14, 15 series before the sale, will save the customer the trouble of updating.

Apple has been protecting its newest models against security vulnerabilities with interim updates like iOS 17.0.3 last week. However, unsold, closed-box iPhone models are sold with older iOS versions. Users need to update iOS when they buy and set up the device.
Apple has developed a new wireless system to solve this problem and ensure that all of its devices are up to date, even if they are sealed boxes. These “pad-like” devices will be available in stores, allowing Apple Store employees to update brand new iPhones.
The production cost of the recently introduced and attention-grabbing iPhone 15 series by Apple has been revealed.
Special devices like the pad will open the phone, install the current iOS update, and then close the device again without the need to unpack it. In this way, the update will be done wirelessly and without opening the iPhone’s box.
The tech giant’s goal is to ensure that all iPhones purchased from Apple stores run the latest iOS version right out of the box. This way, users will not have to download important security or bug updates with their new phones.
There’s no official word from the company yet, but Apple aims to have the over-the-air update system in stores by the end of next year. It’s safe to say that this system will provide an easier setup for iPhone customers.
