As part of its next-generation technology strategy, Audi is taking a major step forward with the complete overhaul of its myAudi app. Audi presents this app as a brand-new solution that integrates the driver, the vehicle, and the internet into a single, unified system, promising to significantly simplify the lives of vehicle owners. The new app is already available for download in more than 50 markets from Europe to the Pacific Rim. Now, it’s bringing artificial intelligence to the table. Here are the details.
ChatGPT Now in Your Car
The most striking feature of the revamped myAudi app is the integration of artificial intelligence. Audi’s software division, CARIAD, has integrated ChatGPT directly into the system. This AI-powered assistant will now serve as a practical companion. Instead of pulling over and searching on Google, drivers will be able to ask technical questions like, “Why is that warning light on?” directly from their vehicle’s owner’s manual.

The new myAudi app completely ditches the physical key. Now, vehicle owners can lock, unlock, and even start their Audis via their smartphones or smartwatches. While digital keys aren’t a new concept, this integration makes physical keys completely unnecessary. For anyone worried about losing their keys or preferring to carry fewer items, this functionality makes the car a seamless extension of their digital life.
The new myAudi app truly shines in its EV management feature, designed for e-tron series owners. Aiming to address common concerns about owning an electric vehicle (EV), the app acts as a smart companion.
The app provides a central hub for vital EV data. Drivers can view the vehicle’s current range, manage Plug & Charge payment functions, and, most importantly, create and manage charging schedules. This allows users to save on their bills by plugging their vehicle in overnight and having the app charge only during off-peak hours when electricity is cheaper.
Developed specifically for long-distance journeys, the route planner automatically finds charging stations and integrates them into the route. The prepared plan can be sent directly to the vehicle’s navigation system with just a few clicks.
This feature, which brings the battery to the optimum temperature before a quick-charging session on select models, significantly shortens charging times, especially in very hot or cold weather.
In addition to all these useful features, the app also provides a gateway to Audi’s digital marketplace. A newly added shopping tab offers recommendations for physical products and digital services, such as accessories specific to the user’s model. Unfortunately, this is becoming part of the reality of modern car ownership as automakers seek new revenue streams.
The updated myAudi app is now available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in over 50 countries, with more markets coming soon.
