Marvel Studios has been working on the new Blade film since 2019. The movie, first announced five years ago at the San Diego Comic-Con, generated significant excitement among fans of the series. Initially set to hit theaters on November 7, 2025, the film has now been delayed indefinitely.
According to Disney’s announcement, the highly anticipated new Blade film is unfortunately postponed without a new release date. The future of this exciting Marvel Studios production remains uncertain. Here are the details…
The New Blade Film Has Faced Numerous Issues
The Blade series, which first entered our lives with the film “Blade: Trinity” in 1998, gained worldwide fame thanks to the unforgettable performance of the renowned actor Wesley Snipes. In the remake, two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali will take on Snipes’ role. However, the film has reportedly faced several delays due to the global pandemic and strikes in the film industry.
Two directors have left the project: Bassam Tariq and then Yann Demange. Mia Goth, who will portray the supervillain Lilith in the film, spoke to Deadline about the delay during the MaXXXine premiere. According to her, Marvel is taking all these issues seriously and is genuinely working hard to create an excellent film.
Marvel head Kevin Feige seems eager to make the best Blade film yet. The studio doesn’t want to start filming until it has the best script, which unfortunately has led to further delays for the film.
So far, there are three unnamed Marvel films with confirmed release dates: February 18, 2028, May 5, 2028, and November 10, 2028. It is believed that Blade could be released on one of these dates.
