The beta testing for One UI 7, which started with the Galaxy S24 series a few weeks ago, is continuing at full speed. One of the most anticipated questions among users is whether older devices will be included in the beta program. A recent development has shed some light on this matter.
One UI 7 Beta Will Not Be Available for Older Devices Like the Galaxy S23
It has been widely reported that One UI 7 testing would begin with the Galaxy S24 series and would later be available for older devices after a few weeks. However, it seems things will not go as expected.
An image shared by an X user named FamilyTaes reveals that there is no plan for the Galaxy S23 series or other “older” devices to participate in the One UI 7 beta. Therefore, these devices will not be part of the testing process.
This should not cause any confusion among users, as even though these models will not participate in the beta, they will receive the stable version, which will be rolled out starting in February 2025.
At this point, there are no details explaining why the South Korean brand made this decision. However, a small guess could be that the repeated delays of the tests and the overall setbacks in the timeline are the main reasons behind this decision.
Unlike this year, Samsung‘s previous beta programs included not only the new flagship series but also older flagship models and some mid-range and entry-level devices.
