Ubisoft recently confirmed the rumors circulating online: Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed. The highly anticipated game was originally expected to be released this November. However, according to the company’s announcement, fans of the series will have to wait a little longer to play the game.
New Release Date for Assassin’s Creed Shadows Announced
Ubisoft has revealed the new release date for the eagerly awaited Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game is now set to launch on February 14, 2025. The additional time, as stated by the company, will be used to further improve the game experience.
In the announcement, the Ubisoft team confirmed that the adventure is nearly complete, with all narrative and gameplay elements in place. However, a few more months of development are needed to ensure the game will meet the high expectations of players.
The game’s developers also explained, “This extra time will allow the game to fully deliver on the promise of an adventure with two heroes, Naoe and Yasuke, who bring very different gameplay styles. It will ensure the passion behind the largest chapter in the series is fully realized.”
The delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could be seen as a positive development for PC players, as it means the temporary exclusivity on the Epic Games Store will end. When the game launches in February, it will also be available on Steam, although it will still require Ubisoft Connect for support.
While some fans are disappointed by the delay, Ubisoft assured players that it was the best decision for the overall experience. The company’s recent cancellation of its presentation at Tokyo Game Show 2024 had already sparked speculation about a potential delay, so this decision didn’t come as much of a surprise to many.
