BAFTA Game Awards 2026: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Wins the Big Prize!

The 2026 BAFTA Game Awards ceremony took place on April 17th with a magnificent event held in London. At the night considered one of the most prestigious organizations in the video game world, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developed by Sandfall Interactive, left its mark by reaching victory in the ‘Best Game’ category, the biggest award of the night. In the event where strong competitors such as Dispatch, Ghost of Yōtei, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II competed, innovative productions and superior performances in the sector were rewarded. Jennifer English won the ‘Performer in a Leading Role’ award for her success as Maelle, while the surprise results throughout the ceremony astonished the audience.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won awards in several categories, including Best Game and Best Debut Game.
The production Dispatch achieved great success in technical branches such as Animation and Audio Achievement.
Ghost of Yōtei took home the Music and Technical Achievement awards.

Featured Productions Drew Attention with the Awards They Won

Another notable name of the night was Dispatch, which stood out with its success in technical fields. The game developed by AdHoc Studio swept the awards by leaving its competitors behind in the animation and sound design categories. Additionally, Jeffrey Wright certified his success in the acting branch by winning the ‘Performer in a Supporting Role’ award for his performance as Chase in Dispatch.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 proved to be the strongest production in the gaming world of 2026 with its great victory.

Successes in the Industry Were Certified in Different Categories

Among the other winners of the ceremony, the British production Atomfall was deemed worthy of the ‘British Game’ award, while Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky, which has been updated for years, continued its stability by winning the ‘Evolving Game’ award. Arc Raiders, developed by Embark Studios, took the top spot in the multiplayer experience category. Regarding game design, Blue Prince won an award by gaining the appreciation of the jury members.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, bearing the signature of Kojima Productions, showed its mastery in art direction with the ‘Artistic Achievement’ award.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II left its rivals behind in the ‘Narrative’ category with its success in storytelling.
South of Midnight, which appeared on stage as a new intellectual property, reached the award in the ‘New Intellectual Property’ branch.

Ilkka Paananen, CEO of Supercell and one of the veterans of the industry, became the recipient of this year’s Fellowship award.
