While rumors have long circulated that Samsung wouldn’t include a larger battery in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, a new report could change these expectations. The new leak claims that Samsung’s next flagship will feature a larger battery than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Capacity Increase and a Jump in Charging Speed
According to a Chinese leaker, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be powered by a 5,200 mAh battery. If this information is accurate, it represents only a 4% increase compared to the battery in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While not a significant upgrade on its own, combined with a more efficient display panel and a next-generation chip could provide a noticeable increase in battery life.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is also expected to feature 60W fast wired charging. If this information proves true, it would be a significant upgrade over the S25 Ultra’s 45W fast charging.
The upcoming flagship phone is also rumored to feature 25W fast wireless charging, likely via the Qi2.2 standard. It’s also rumored that it will be able to align the charger without needing an external case, thanks to built-in magnets.
With these upgrades, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to charge from 0 to 100% in an hour, both wired and wireless, and the slightly larger battery will offer slightly longer battery life on a single charge.
These figures suggest Samsung is being more cautious than its competitors when it comes to increasing battery capacity. Analysts note that Samsung has been slow to adopt high-capacity technologies like silicon-carbon due to its focus on battery health and safety and its desire to avoid recurring overheating issues.
