China-based battery manufacturer SEVB has introduced its new generation battery technology that has made a splash in the electric vehicle world. The Star Chaser 2.0 battery, which was introduced at the 17th International Battery Expo held in Shenzhen, can provide a range of more than 150 kilometers with just one minute of charging. This performance is made possible thanks to the 1400 ampere ultra-fast charging support.
Battery offering 150 km range in 1 minute introduced
The battery developed by SEVB marks a turning point in battery technology. The charging time of electric vehicles has reached a level approaching the fuel filling time of internal combustion engines. The company states that this new battery, which uses LFP (lithium iron phosphate) technology, can reach a charging speed of 12C.

This speed can theoretically bring the battery to full charge in five minutes. Although this time may vary depending on the charge rate in real-life usage scenarios, the values achieved are among the highest levels recorded in the sector to date.
SEVB launched the previous generation Star Chaser battery in 2022. This first version could charge at 4C speed. In the meantime, the company, which has increased charging performance threefold, has made significant improvements in its new generation technology not only in terms of speed but also safety and energy density.
SEVB’s proprietary Tianqing architecture is used in the battery structure. This structure, in which thermal and electrical systems are separated, offers high energy density while not compromising on safety. In addition to the compact design, integrated liquid cooling systems are used to quickly cool the battery. This architecture makes a charging speed of 12C, which was considered difficult to reach until now, a reality.
High-speed charging support is not limited to the battery alone. The Xinxingchi 2.0 Kiloamp Extreme Charging Edition charging unit introduced by SEVB can provide 1400 amps of current. When this system is combined with the 1000-volt architecture to be used in vehicles, it can produce charging power up to 1.4 megawatts. This opens the door to a range of 150 kilometers with a one-minute charge.
