Developed by EA and DICE, Battlefield 6 has achieved significant commercial success on the PC platform, just two months before its official release date of October 10th. According to data shared by Alinea Analytics, the game has received 605,000 pre-orders on Steam alone, generating approximately $35 million in revenue. This success has made Battlefield 6 the platform’s best-selling premium game for two weeks running.
Battlefield 6 Breaks Pre-Order Record
The recent open beta significantly contributed to the rapid increase in pre-orders. The beta brought back the classic chaotic combat atmosphere and fast-paced gameplay of the Battlefield series, recapturing player attention.

The beta reached over half a million concurrent players on Steam, surpassing any Call of Duty game released on the platform. This high level of interest directly impacted the game’s wishlist and pre-order numbers.
Battlefield 6 has been wishlisted 2.7 million times on Steam. However, these figures are only for the Steam platform. Sales through EA’s own digital store, the EA App, have not yet been released. Therefore, the total number of pre-orders is expected to be even higher.
Furthermore, EA’s past financial reports indicate that the company generates more revenue from console platforms than PC. Consequently, the majority of Battlefield 6’s sales are expected to come from PlayStation and Xbox users.
EA will maintain a live service model for the game. In line with its post-sale revenue targets, Battlefield 6 will feature a battle pass and optional microtransactions. This structure will be presented as a key component of its long-term revenue strategy. The game will be tested once again this weekend with a second beta before its full release on October 10th.
