New details have emerged about Battlefield 6. As releases for the game’s multiplayer mode continue, new information has emerged regarding one of the most discussed topics, the cross-platform matchmaking system. According to sources close to the game’s development, console players in Battlefield 6 will be matched first with players on their own platform by default.
Battlefield 6 will not require cross-platform
Electronic Arts stated that console players will only match with PC players when necessary. This system covers all major console platforms, including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The matchmaking system will prioritize players on the same console first, followed by other console users. However, if the servers are insufficient, matchmaking with PC users will be activated.

The game’s cross-platform feature can be turned on or off in the settings menu. This will allow users to play according to their platform preferences. This option was particularly noteworthy due to balance issues related to using controllers and keyboard and mouse in online competition.
60 FPS support is guaranteed in the console versions of Battlefield 6. It has been stated that this value can be exceeded in performance mode. Keyboard and mouse support is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S devices, while controller support will be active on PC.
The Battlefield 6 open beta will take place from August 9-10 and August 14-17. Details about maps, modes, and weapon lists will also be made available to testers during the beta period. Details regarding the game’s story mode are still under wraps.
