Anthropic, one of the biggest players in the AI race, unveiled the first AI of its next generation Claude 3.5 model. Dubbed Claude 3.5 Sonnet, the chatbot outperforms models like GPT-4o and Gemini 1.5 Pro.
How good is Claude 3.5 Sonnet?
Anthropic said that 3.5 Sonnet performs many functions, from coding to visual rendering. It stands out as the company’s best AI model for finding code errors, understanding user input and doing the math.
Anthropic published some benchmark results, claiming that 3.5 Sonnet outperforms its competitors. While third-party research has yet to confirm, it outperforms ChatGPT and Gemini in writing code, mathematical calculations and rendering images.
According to the company, the model has also improved its capabilities in areas such as visual reasoning, graphic interpretation and copying text from images. In this context, it claims to be better than its most powerful model, Claude 3 Opus.
Anthropic has announced that it will make Claude 3.5 Sonnet available for free for a limited number of searches. However, for those who want to use the model unlimitedly, there are subscriptions such as Claude Pro and Team.
A more powerful Opus and a smaller but faster Haiku variant are expected to be announced later this year.
