You may be thinking about starting a stream on Twitch but you may not be able to start making money right away. Fortunately, Twitch is making a big change and will offer new streamers the opportunity to make money. Now, viewers can subscribe and donate Bits to support the streamers they follow. So what exactly does this change mean? Here are the details…
Twitch is opening monetization tools to new streamers
According to the information shared by Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, the platform will now allow many new streamers, not just streamers who have reached affiliate status, to earn money directly. For those who don’t know, one of the most common ways to make money on Twitch was through channel subscriptions and Bit donations. However, until now, you had to be an affiliate to access these features. The company will eliminate this obstacle and allow most streamers to access these tools from day one.

In the current system, becoming an affiliate requires criteria such as reaching a certain number of followers and broadcasting at certain times. This process could be challenging for many new streamers. However, in the new system, accessing Twitch’s monetization tools seems to be limited to only opening certain broadcasting tools. In other words, you won’t have to wait long to earn money.
Although some limits have been removed, there is another limit that broadcasters need to pay attention to. In fact, the company will continue to maintain a minimum limit of $50 to withdraw earnings. In other words, you won’t be able to withdraw the money you earn to your account until you reach a certain level.
