Microsoft aims to reach a broader audience with its AI-powered Bing Chat by expanding its compatibility to popular browsers such as Safari and Chrome. Previously, Bing Chat was only accessible through Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft expands Bing Chat to third-party browser
Mikhail Parakhin, the President of Advertising and Web Services at Microsoft, announced that they are currently testing Bing Chat support for third-party web browsers. Considering that Google Chrome and Apple Safari make up around 78% of the market share, this move is crucial for enhancing Bing’s popularity.
By broadening browser compatibility, the tech giant intends to extend the reach of Bing Chat to a wider user base, allowing more people to access its features. This means that, for example, users will be able to benefit from Bing Chat powered by ChatGPT-4 on Chrome.
Additionally, Microsoft has introduced various improvements to enhance the Bing Chat experience. The daily chat limit has been increased from 200 to 300, enabling users to have more interactions throughout the day. Furthermore, the limit for asking questions per session has been raised from 20 to 30.
Moreover, Microsoft is expanding the usage of Bing Image Creator, powered by DALL-E, within Bing Chat. This service enables the creation of AI-generated images and now offers “Sensitive” and “Balanced” modes, generating more contextually appropriate visuals based on user requests.
The company has made Bing with GPT-4 completely accessible by eliminating the requirement for account creation. Now, all you need to do is click on the Bing logo in the top right corner after entering Edge.
