Black Myth: Wukong 1.0.9.15179 update
In the patch notes, Game Science warns players that installed mods may cause issues and recommends uninstalling any mods and verifying game file integrity before launching the updated version. No specific changes were outlined.
Black Myth: Wukong has been a commercial phenomenon since launching last year. It sold an unprecedented 18 million copies in just two weeks across PC and PS5, generating over $700 million in revenue. This put it among the fastest selling games ever along with titles like GTA 5 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The massive success of Wukong has spurred investment into continued support and new content. Hero Games, one of Game Science’s primary investors, recently confirmed plans to release an Elden Ring-style expansion before any full sequel. This would further expand upon the beloved world and gameplay that drew in so many fans.
While reception to the groundbreaking technical feats and combat of Black Myth: Wukong has been overwhelmingly positive, the game and studio have also faced some criticism. IGN previously reported on sexist comments made by Game Science founders over the years. The company is yet to directly address these issues.
