Blizzard Entertainment appears to be retooling its projects as part of the layoffs. He gave up on developing a yet-to-be-announced survival game. The game would be Blizzard’s first new brand since launching Overwatch in 2016.
Xbox Studios President Matt Booty made the first statement on the subject. In the information shared within the company, Booty stated that Blizzard employees in the unreleased game will be shifted to other projects.
Booty said in his statement: “Today’s decisions; “It will impact multiple teams within Blizzard, including development teams, shared services, and corporate functions.” The layoffs came right after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard.
