Bloober Team, who are currently working on Cronos: The New Dawn, Bloober Team emphasises that the Silent Hill 2 remake will be a strong inspiration to stop delivering bad games. The company admits that in the past, it has delivered products that are not of the quality horror fans deserve, which has created distrust among gamers. Here are the details…
Bloober Team is forging a new path
In an interview with GameSpot, director and producer Jacek Zieba stated that he is aware of the negative reputation of the studio, which has had some very difficult years: ‘Everyone’s in good spirits now. We want to show what we can do on our own, how we can develop our ideas.’
Director and designer Wojciech Piejko told the website that by successfully updating Silent Hill 2, Bloober Team had managed to do what many considered unthinkable: ‘They made the impossible possible and the road was bumpy because of the hate on the internet. The pressure was enormous. They did it and it was an incredible moment for the company.’
He also added that the developer is currently going through a similar period to when it created Layers of Fear. While the game that started the series has its obvious problems, the studio has decided to continue to develop its ideas and find its own audience in the sequels.
‘We’ve brought together a team that loves horror, so I believe it wouldn’t be easy for us to move into other genres and we don’t want to do that,’ Piejko said.
In previous press releases, the company has stated that it plans to continue to bring horror themes to the public, but that they will bring more action moments and be less nuanced than its past work.
