Bluesky, a social media application seen as a competitor to X (Twitter), founded by Jack Dorsey, the founder and former CEO of Twitter, in 2021, has now opened its doors to everyone as of today. So, how can you sign up for Bluesky?
Bluesky is now open to everyone: Sign-up process
To sign up for the microblogging platform Bluesky, previously you needed to receive an invitation code from someone already registered on the app or directly from the company. This invitation-only system had significantly piqued interest in the app. Now, this curiosity can finally be satisfied.
For nearly a year, the application could only be accessed by invitation, but as of the past few hours, it has opened its doors to everyone. This means you can now sign up without needing an invitation. Bluesky, which has a similar interface to X (Twitter), stands out for being open-source. This means developers can also contribute to the project.
According to reports, before opening to everyone, Bluesky had 3 million users. Comparatively, Threads has 130 million monthly active users. So, it seems the company still has a long way to go.
