Visionary statements from BYD executive: Long-term plans and innovative approaches
“Success does not depend on luck, it comes with superior systems”
Yang emphasized that the success and advanced level of a product may depend on luck, but a superior organizational system is needed for continuous success. In this context, he listed BYD’s future goals as follows:

- Opportunity for young talents: BYD plans to support young engineers with bolder roles. Stating that it is natural to make mistakes, Yang said that the important thing is to learn from mistakes.
- Rotation system: It is planned to direct electrification employees to smart driving projects and smart driving engineers to electrification projects. With this method, the company will support the development of different perspectives.
- Investment in innovation: The company encourages engineers to engage in more in-depth research and development processes. It also plans to reduce bureaucracy and shorten approval processes by 50-80%.
Meanwhile, Yang said that electric vehicles are a strong foothold for BYD, but smart driving technologies should also consolidate this success. As BYD moves towards leadership in electrification and smart driving, it is pursuing an innovative approach to both software and hardware development. Reportedly, the company recognizes that software is now decisive in the “life or death” decision of automobiles.
On the other hand, BYD recently launched a “Smart Driving Training” app that helps car owners learn smart driving systems. The company is also expected to integrate its self-developed mid- and high-end smart driving solutions into select vehicle models throughout the year.
