BYD is introducing the Seagull model to the European market
BYD continues to carry the success it has achieved in the Chinese automobile market to Europe. The company, which increased its sales in Europe by 169% in April compared to the previous year, has left Tesla behind for the first time.

BYD sold a total of 7,231 fully electric vehicles in Europe last month. During the same period, Tesla’s sales decreased by 49% to 7,165 units. Launched after this momentum, the Dolphin Surf has become a model that directly affects the price competition in its segment.
While the sales price of the model in Europe is positioned below 20,000 euros, the sales price of the same vehicle in China is below 10,000 dollars. The Dolphin Surf is entering the European market in three different versions. The entry-level Active offers a WLTP range of 220 km with a 30 kWh LFP battery pack and comes with a 65 kW motor.
The intermediate version called Boost also increases the battery capacity to 43.2 kWh, increasing the range to 322 km. The motor power remains at the same level. In the top version called Comfort, the motor power reaches 115 kW.
The car’s charging times are also remarkable for its segment. The company states that the Dolphin Surf’s charging time from 30% to 80% is 22 minutes. While the maximum DC charging speed for the Active version is given as 65 kW, this speed goes up to 80 kW in the Boost and Comfort versions. The maximum speed of the vehicle is limited to 150 km/h.
