Cadillac’s luxury electric SUV lineup is making a name for itself in the automotive world by exceeding even official EPA range ratings. The company is making a comeback with its new-generation electric vehicles, achieving its best sales figures since 2008 in the first half of this year. Excluding Tesla, Cadillac claims to be the leading luxury EV brand in the US. Here are the details.
Cadillac’s New Electric SUVs Exceed Expectations in Range Tests
Behind this success lies GM’s Ultium platform, which also powers electric vehicles from brands like Chevrolet and GMC. This platform allows Cadillac to offer an electric model in every segment, from the entry-level Optiq to the three-row Vistiq and the massive Escalade IQ.

While EPA tests typically indicate ranges exceeding 300 miles (approximately 482 km) for many models, Edmunds’ latest EV range test showed that Cadillac’s new SUVs exceed these figures even in real-world conditions.
Cadillac Optiq Sport 2: This model, equipped with an 85 kWh battery, has an EPA-estimated range of 302 miles, but in Edmunds testing, it exceeded the official range by nearly 12 percent, covering 339 miles (545 km). It also achieved a better efficiency rating of 33 kWh, consuming 29.8 kWh per 100 miles. Priced at $54,390, this model, similar in size to the Tesla Model Y, boasts a strong range and efficiency rating.
Cadillac Vistiq 900 E4: A three-row SUV, the Vistiq offers a 305-mile EPA range with its massive 102 kWh battery. However, in real-world testing, it exceeded the official range by 9 percent, covering 334 miles (537 km). Starting at $79,090, this model, with its spacious interior, offers an ideal option for long journeys.

Both vehicles offer over 330 miles of range in real-world testing, which could go a long way toward alleviating range anxiety, a major concern for potential buyers. With the Optiq and Vistiq, Cadillac offers compelling options for those seeking an electric SUV that’s both efficient and luxurious.
