In the gaming world, banning players who break the rules is a common practice. However, some ban durations can be quite shocking. In fact, Marvel Rivals, which launched a few months ago, made headlines for issuing 100-year bans to cheaters. Recently, Call of Duty made a similar move.
Call of Duty Issues a 67-Year Communication Ban to a Player
A player named Jefedadon762 shared a post on Reddit, stating that he received a 67-year, 17-day penalty in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The player also shared a screenshot of the penalty notification and expressed his surprise at the situation.
The penalty notification sent to the player stated:
“Your speech activity has violated our Code of Conduct, and your public communication privileges have been temporarily revoked. You will no longer be able to communicate in general matches.”
As mentioned above, the player will not be able to use in-game chat for 67 years and 17 days. Naturally, the reason behind such a lengthy ban has sparked curiosity.
The player did not provide a specific explanation for the penalty. However, other players are divided, with some believing the punishment was justified and others thinking it was issued for a trivial reason.
One player even mentioned that they had once received a two-day chat ban for simply saying their team was “terrible” during a match. This has led to criticism that Activision is being excessively strict with players. Some even speculated that artificial intelligence might be behind such penalties.
