Does Elon Musk have access to nuclear weapons?
With Donald Trump’s re-election to the presidency, Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, CEO of SpaceX, X (former Twitter) and Tesla, became one of Donald Trump’s biggest supporters during the election and headed the DOGE ministry after the election. The main purpose of DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, is to minimize unnecessary spending from the past government and avoid unnecessary spending in the future. Musk’s ministry, DOGE, is therefore trying to access all ministries.
Earlier this week, DOGE requested a warrant to access all computers and information on the US Department of Energy. This included the nuclear control systems within the Department of Energy. Concerned, Secretary of Energy Chris Wright went on the air and made several statements. The United States has one of the most powerful nuclear arsenals on the planet. It has enough firepower to end all life on Earth several times over. The president is the only one authorized to launch these weapons, but he is getting closer and closer to DOGE systems. At a press conference on Friday, Trump called on Musk and DOGE
He said he had instructed them to address spending at the Pentagon;
providing access to the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)
and that it may not be impossible.

Secretary Wright goes on to say that the Pentagon is too slow in upgrading the computers that control nuclear systems, that these computers are in a closed network, that these computers are from the 70s and 80s and that this computer cannot be controlled from any computer connected to the Department of Energy network. As a result, Musk cannot control it without the permission of the president, but at the same time, the social media conflict that has started among the public is enough to scare people even the possibility that Elon Musk can shoot without permission from the minister.
