Design platform Canva announced its biggest evolution to date, unveiling a new architecture called Creative OS. This system integrates Canva’s AI capabilities across all areas, and its biggest surprise was the free Affinity suite.
Canva AI Model: Creative OS
At the heart of the new system is the “Canva Design Model.” This new AI model, rather than simply producing static images, understands the logic, order, and hierarchy of design and can create fully editable designs.

Canva’s most surprising move was making its Affinity (Photo, Designer, Publisher) software suite, originally intended for professional users, free “forever for everyone.” This was interpreted as a direct target for Adobe’s market share.
Canva also introduced new tools such as AI-powered Video 2.0, a custom marketing email builder, and brand identity-specific forms. Users can now access AI assistance directly within the editor using the @Canva tag.
